It's so weird that this conversation with Johnny Carson centers on two things that most people under 40 today do not have experience with, the height of Burt's popularity and gas rationing in the early 70's. He might come off a bit smarmy about his accolades but he was being self deprecating. He and Dom Deluise were the best together.

Yes, it was an issue many years ago and the GB put out the letter that Saltheart mentioned. Only those who weren't around are unaware of it. Uber elders probably dismiss it for the way the old guard felt. Many new elders probably don't even know of the letter. Morons. I always got sick after the Circuit Asses. I finally figured out it was the public drinking fountain. Stopped using them and wasn't sick right afterwards any longer.

That sort of protest is powerful. No name calling, no doctrinal ranting... simply exposing and appealing to any others who may have been abused to come forward. VERY POWERFUL. They seem more like victims than apostates. Awesome.

he was not in our congregation when this all erupted.
he denied it and moved to another hall and unbelievably, that body of elders wanted to appoint him since they believed his entire family was lying about him.

A relative was molested by her stepfather for 7 years! Five to twelve.. When her mother found out, she went to the elders who told her not to speak of it since there was only one witness. She divorced his ass. He started dating a DF'd woman with two little girls. My sister took a chance and warned her about him. The woman refused to believe her and accused her of being jealous. So she married the pig and he proceeded to molest the two daughters. He was DF'd, arrested and is now old, demented in a home and dying. Couldn't wish it on a bigger prick. Only one member of that family is still active but they are POMI.

i was in disbelieve on just how silly everything looks with the watchtower reader reading from his little iphone and the watchtower conductor holding up his iphone to ask the questions.
